I’m a little behind on gardening this year. It may be because I’m still on a Maine schedule which has a later start date. And it seems to me that the south has had a cooler spring then usual. AND I only have a balcony this year….so….those are my excuses! But we all know, I’m just being lazy. I’m planning on having two large planters and then some little pots here and there on my balcony. I have managed to get some seeds started, but just haven’t transplanted them yet. The peas were the first to go a little crazy, so I knew I had to get them into bigger containers fast, or they wouldn’t continue to thrive.I’ve been saving some empty juice containers. The simply orange juice containers are really great because they are really thick and sturdy. They actually end up being too thick for how I usually poke holes in the bottoms of containers for drainage. I usually just use a hammer and nail, but that didn’t work, so I had to ask the hubby to drill them with his drill. So in the picture, it looks like I’m hammering holes…..I’m really not….I just didn’t get a picture of the drilling process. sorry.
They are growing very happily now and have even reached the top of the railing and are now starting to flower!!
Can’t wait for some sugar snap peas!!
