Happy Valentines Day!! I know most of us don't really care for Valentines Day all that much. I myself do not celebrate even though I do have a partner. I love the that Galentines Day has become more popular. But even more I think that self love has expanded and that self care is becoming more important in people's lives. So, I thought it fitting to talk a little bit about Rose Quartz. Like Clear Quartz, Rose quartz is pretty common and is known to be associated with love. Because it is so well known and I myself am very familiar with the properties of it that I wanted to take my time to sit with it for a while. For little over a week I have at least had a piece of rose quartz on or near my body. I've carried it my pockets, put it in my bra, and even slept with it under my pillow. I feel like I've gotten to know it pretty well and I think it has also let me get to know myself a little more. Which is why I would say that Rose Quartz specifically deals with Self Love. It has such a gentle energy and feel like a nice warm hug. I think it teaches you to be kind to yourself and to love unconditionally like you would a pet. "I love you even though you you peed on the carpet" kind of love. I also feel like it is asking you to forgive yourself, because most of us are really hard on ourselves. I think it also helps to look at others more forgivingly and gives you the ability to "see with your heart". I've really enjoyed working with rose quartz and I am sorry I haven't worked with it sooner. I think I've avoided it for so long because I wasn't looking for love, as I've been with my husband for over 15 years, and I am also just not a pink person. But now I've come to realize that the love I needed was the love from myself, and I think that Rose Quartz definitely helps with that. For the month of February I will be offering a "Crystal Heart Massage" that used rose quartz and Green Fluorite as a massage tool. AND you will get your very own Rose Quartz Crystal Heart to keep. <3

Fall is all about going within. We see this in nature when the plants and trees send their energy to their roots to prepare for winter. I have recently been reminded of my roots as an herbalist and how it is originally what lead me to massage. While it is very much a part of my personal life, professionally it is something that I have somewhat kept on the back burner. There are various reasons for keeping it in the shadow but I would like to start shedding some light on it now.
For this season, I have chosen to make a lemon balm infused herbal massage oil. Over the summer I really enjoyed the refreshing peppermint oil I was using. Although it was one of the most aromatic of all of the infused oils I have used, I loved it for how lite and soothing it felt on the skin. So, I knew that I really wanted to use another member of the mint family. Internally lemon balm is wonderful for digestion, relieving both menstrual and intestinal cramps, and is anti bacterial and anti-viral. Lemon balm is known for its uplifting and slightly sedative qualities. Lemon balm is rich in antioxidants and is anti-inflammatory making it great for the skin. It soothes skin irritations as well as heals and tightens the skin. Although mostly a calming herb it is slightly stimulating and increases circulation. By infusing lemon balm in fractionated coconut oil it is easily absorbed into the skin allowing you to reap all of these wonderful benefits! Coming soon: Ginger infused Massage OIl .Spring is FINALLY in the air and I think a lot of us have slowly been waking up along with all of the plants. Looking around everything looks green and alive and it always makes me think of aromatherapy. To me, Aromatherapy is to your nose what Spring is for the eyes. Its awakening, refreshing, and rejuvenating. This year instead of creating an essential oil blend for Wonderland Mobile Massage's Spring Aromatherapy Special, I've decided to allow people to create their own blend according to their needs or scents that they are attracted to. The following is a list of the essential oils that I carry along with some of the benefits, properties, and elemental associations of each.
Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) has a mild floral aroma that zings with the bite of citrus. Like most citrus oils it is uplifting and refreshing, easing anxiety and depression. It also boosts the immunes system and soothes skin irritations. Bergamot is associated with physical and magical energy and can be used to draw in prosperous energy. It's planet is Mercury and element is AIR. Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana) has a strong earthy scent that is instantly grounding upon inhalation. It helps to reduce stress and nervous tension. Like most oils it aids the respiratory system. One of the reasons I started working with cedarwood is for arthritis and rheumatism conditions. it is great for clearing the energy of a room and allows you to connect to spirituality. Its grounding properties can help with self-control issues. Its planet is the Sun and element is FIRE. *CONTRAINDICATED DURING PREGNANCY* Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) has an airly refreshing aroma that helps reduce stress, nervous tension, and depression. You can really feel it in your lungs and can be used to help with asthma, cough, and throat conditions. Topically it helps relieve muscle cramping as well as smooth muscle/menstrual cramping. Its planet is Mercury and is associated with the AIR element. Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens) smells like you walked into an forest thick with woody pines and evergreens. It's wonderful for most respiratory conditions. Topical uses include muscle cramping, edema, poor circulation, and rheumatism. This is another one that reduces stress and nervous tension. Its associated with the planet Saturn and the Earth element. Cinnamon is an oil to use very sparingly and to never ever ever put directly on the skin. It is wonderful to add a nice warming effect to any blend. Its planet is the Sun and element is FIRE!! Lavender (Lavendula officinalis) is so wonderfully floral and calming. An oil most people are familiar with as a sleep aid and for stress reduction. It is also great for any skin irritation such as rashes or bug bites. Its planet is Mercury and element is AIR. Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is a very versatile oil great for skin conditions, muscle pain and circulation as well as stress related conditions. It helps with nervous exhaustion as well as headaches. It is anti-microbial so it can be used for bacterial skin conditions such as athletes foot or infections. Lemongrass increases circulation and is also a tissue toner. Its planet is Mercury and element is AIR. Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) is a holy oil great for meditation and connecting you to your spirituality or awken to a higher conciousness. It is a wound healer, reduces stress, and eases anxiety. It is very awakening, a little spicy and refreshing. its planet is the Sun and element is AIR. Rosemary (Rosmarinus officianalis) is one of my favoirtes and another very versitile oil. Wonderful for almost any skin condition, circulation, muscle pain, respiratory conditions, nervous exhaustion, and headaches. It is also great to help with memory and longevity. Its planet is the Sun and element is FIRE. Peppermint is another great oil added to any blend for its cooling and pain relieving properties. It is another refreshing AIR element oil and is associated with the planet Mercury. I've also have a handful of new oil samples to try out this year and am open to any requests or to use your own oils if you have them.
